Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be put in on replacement or new doors. This style of handle is available in many designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed from durable materials, and are ideal for multi-point lock doors that require a robust design. The handles are inline and work from the same spindle and screw fixings, so they can be easily incorporated into new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be positioned and angled to accommodate all users. The handle has been endurance-tested to 200 000 cycles. This helps to ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance over time. The sprung lever can be reduced to accommodate the widest range of locks. This is particularly beneficial for doors with narrower frames, where the cylinder is located further back. A shortened lever can also be used for doors with latches which can be operated with the thumb inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles that are found on most doors. These handle types are either operated by a single spindle or by two spindles, either inline or offset. They are usually used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a variety of finishes & variations.

The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200 000 cycles and are available in several finishes, including White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with an outstanding performance and durability to serve the purpose it was designed for.

All of the UPVC handle lever pad styles are supplied with the spindle and screws that allow them to be installed on an existing or new uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixing centres allow for a wider size of handle which can be beneficial when replacing a faulty or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have a spring, which solves the problem of door handles that move out of horizontal position when not being used.

It is crucial to ensure that the PZ dimensions for both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when selecting a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is often called the  handle centre or 'cylinder centres and is an essential aspect of matching up the correct handles.

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder case that will reveal pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock body, permitting them to turn an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

Choosing the right cylinder is vitally important; this is contingent on how your doors and handles are utilized. External doors, for example, should be fitted with cylinders with greater security and internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. This can make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.

The design of most newer cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a new direction. This can help to deflect attacks and keep your door safe.

Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. This is a growing method of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is targeted by a tool that is specially designed to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a lot faster and more straightforward than opening the door with multipoint locks. It also leaves no evidence of a burglary, which can hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is located inside the base plate of the door handle. It provides a sprung solution to help return your multipoint lock handles back to their original position after use. There was a time when handles of this kind didn't have a spring built into them and without this they can droop or 'drop' once the locking mechanism has been disengaged. This simple component is the best solution to solve this issue. It also helps prevent your door from getting stuck in either the open or closed position as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a spring multipoint locks. They won't work with handles that are not sprung and you'll have to cut a hole in the backplate to allow them to fit. (Please see the image for a detailed diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes within the backplates of door handles of numerous brands of uPVC doors. They are supplied in a single unit. They have a square-cut out that is able to accommodate an 8mm shaft.
